Attended Texas A&M Municipal Fire School for the first time in 1974

Appointed Captain in 1981 by Fire Chief Takus (193-1988)

Appointed Assistant Chief in 1984

Appointed Chief February 1989 by Mayor Bob Whitmore

Chaired the Bexar County First Responders Network 1995-2006

Largest Fire Command: Winn Store fire 5241 Walzem February 1992

 Attended National Fire Academy 1997-2000 earning the Executive Fire Officer Designation

Responded to over 10,000 calls for service in 37 years.

A key person in the planning, writing and implementing the first Bexar County-wide mutual aid contract in 1997

Tom is still an active member of the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department
