SAFD purchased a variety of apparatus throughout the years.  The photos we have compiled represent a very small part of the retired fleet and some of the  reserve fleet.  Some of the Smeal engines and LTI ladder trucks are still in the active reserve fleet.
Most apparatus purchases are for several identical units.  Many of the pumpers and ladder trucks purchased in the 70's were manufactured by American LaFrance and Seagrave.

There are some unique units purchased in small quantities such as the Hendrickson / 3D units that were used at 31 and 22 as well as the Ward LaFrance Pumper used by 38 and 31.

Some of these vehicles are still owned by the SAFD.  Ladder 1's old tiller truck is in storage at the shops.   Some of the retired stations are also still owned by the city.
